Math OR Reading: $170 – $180

Math AND Reading: $290 – $310

Registration Fee: $65/student

There are no long-term contracts, only month to month.

FAQs

At what age can my student start attending?
  • We work with students aged four and up who are able to focus for 10-15 minutes.
How many times a week will my student come to the center and for how long is each visit?
  • Most students attend twice a week for center visits and complete Gideon assignments at home the other days. However, you can come once a week or request extra classes for an additional fee.
  • Each center visit is typically 30 minutes per subject to do individual daily assignments, complete any old corrections, and review new material. A Gideon instructor will be at the table with the students to assist as needed. Most students will be seated with a 3:1 student to teacher ratio.
What level of work will my student be doing?
  • During the free placement evaluation, we will find a ‘just right’ point in the Gideon curriculum based on what skills your student shows as mastered in order to fill any holes and gaps in his foundation.   • Our goal is to build confidence through mastery with progress right from the start to encourage focus and concentration.
Does Gideon work with students with learning differences such as dyslexia?
  • Yes, the Gideon program works well for most students, including those with learning differences. While school must continue on its schedule, we have the luxury of time to allow the student to set the pace and do any extra practice needed to truly master each level. If your student has dyslexia, read THIS to find out why Gideon is a good solution.
Does Gideon work with students with special needs such as autism?
  • Yes, the Gideon program works with many special needs students. We can evaluate further if Gideon is a good fit when we meet your student during the free placement evaluation.

My daughter has shown such growth in math in the six months or so we have been at Gideon. We started tutoring because we did not want her to fall behind in summer and because we had noticed that she was frustrated and a bit behind compared to classmates. Now she’s confident and super excited to do math. The staff are so kind and friendly; they do a great job encouraging and pushing my daughter every step of the way.

This Gideon program is wonderful! Our daughter enrolled in the Reading program for about 3 months and we noticed a big improvement with her reading ability. The activities in this program is interesting that our daughter is willing to study her assignment for 15mins to 20mins daily without complaining. The staffs also very friendly and understanding.

My son was failing reading at school. His schol asked me to find him a tutor. After interviewing several tutors, I decide on Gideon. Being able to meet with the owner Tez was a huge plus. She is very involved and communicates well. Her entire staff was A+. They helped my son catch up in class and pass to the next grade. This place has been one of the best investments we could have made for our child. The staff is caring and listens to the parents concerns. The groups are kept small so the tutors have the opportunity to work with each child individually. Since we started our child has made significant improvements in both reading and math. They have increased two letter levels for guided reading in just under 2 months. We have also noticed higher fluency and automaticity when recalling math facts. This place is a 10 out of 10, my child loves coming here!

Game changer!!The pandemic and home schooling was tough on my son. He wasn't learning math very well and his confidence and his overall self esteem suffered. Taking him to Gideon was a game changer! When he went back to school this year, he didn't score well on his MAPP test (October 2021). However, the test showed that since he started Gideon in April 2021, he had already improved a whole school year's worth of skill. Now he is on level for his grade and on the way to finishing this year above level in his Math scores. His confidence has soared and he believes in himself again. Nothing is worse than watching your child suffer, but watching them succeed is beyond rewarding! Ms. Tez and all of the staff at Gideon are amazing with the kids. We are so happy for the change we see in him and proud of all the work he put in. Thank you so much for helping our boy!

I am also a student at Gideon Math and Reading Center. They know what level you are at depending on your placement test and it helps you memorize your multiplication tables. My grades are also improving with Gideon as I am memorizing more multiplication facts and getting better with reading. I would recommend this place for kids, also mentioning you get prizes when you finish a booklet which motivates kids to work even harder.

We started attending Gideon in April 2021 to improve reading skills for our son who showed little interest in Kinder and First Grade. Since attending Gideon, not only is he an avid reader, he scored in the 90th percentile in our most recent school administered assessment, far exceeding his performance on previously administered school assessments. We started our daughter a few months later to encourage her math methodology and she has continued to excel in Math this year. Both children had different needs and Tez Reventar was absolutely the BEST at identifying what those needs were. The one hour my kids spend at Gideon every week has been more beneficial than I ever imagined - their confidence and mastery of reading and math skills is truly impressive. Meet Tez, owner and director of Gideon Math and Reading Center in Spring Branch / Memorial, TX! A proud graduate with a degree in physical therapy, Tez is dedicated to providing the best math and reading programs in Spring Branch / Memorial. Tez has experience as a physical therapist in her career and knows the importance of building solid math and reading foundations. She has taken her passion for education and poured it into her learning center in Spring Branch / Memorial. She and her husband, Gaby, have three children who are all enrolled in Gideon programs.
