Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM

New student evaluations are done by appt.

Monthly Pricing

Math OR Reading: $160 – $180

Math AND Reading: $290 – $310

Registration Fee: $50/student

There are no long-term contracts, only month to month.

FAQs

At what age can my student start attending?
  • We work with students aged four and up who are able to focus for 10-15 minutes.
How many times a week will my student come to the center and for how long is each visit?
  • Most students attend twice a week for center visits and complete Gideon assignments at home the other days. However, you can come once a week or request extra classes for an additional fee.
  • Each center visit is typically 30 minutes per subject to do individual daily assignments, complete any old corrections, and review new material. A Gideon instructor will be at the table with the students to assist as needed. Most students will be seated with a 3:1 student to teacher ratio.
What level of work will my student be doing?
  • During the free placement evaluation, we will find a ‘just right’ point in the Gideon curriculum based on what skills your student shows as mastered in order to fill any holes and gaps in his foundation.   • Our goal is to build confidence through mastery with progress right from the start to encourage focus and concentration.
Does Gideon work with students with learning differences such as dyslexia?
  • Yes, the Gideon program works well for most students, including those with learning differences. While school must continue on its schedule, we have the luxury of time to allow the student to set the pace and do any extra practice needed to truly master each level. If your student has dyslexia, read THIS to find out why Gideon is a good solution.
Does Gideon work with students with special needs such as autism?
  • Yes, the Gideon program works with many special needs students. We can evaluate further if Gideon is a good fit when we meet your student during the free placement evaluation.

Our experience with Gideon has been top notch! My daughter started last summer before entering 1st grade. She was struggling to keep up with her peers in reading. At the time, she was unable to recognize very simple words and would becomefrustrated easily. She has since made tremendous progress and is now able to read children’s books from start to finish with little to no assistance. She enjoys going to Gideon, now has more confidence, and enjoys reading. She is extremely proud of the progress she has made. We are very grateful to her tutor, Ms. Katie. She has been extremely patient and kind! I would highly recommend Gideon Richardson for any child needing additional assistance with phonics and reading.

Gideon and Ms. Katie have been amazing at helping our daughter get back on track in school! Within two weeks I have seen a drastic improvement in her ability as well as her confidence, which makes her want to learn more! Gideon has been amazing at helping my son. My son has been having a hard time learning how to read. Since he’s been going to Gideon I can honestly see a huge improvement. He sounds and blends his letters and words correctly and clearly. He is now able to read with not much help from us at home. Gideon has set him up to fully be reading for the next school year.

Working with Gideon helps students master each step so that they will be more confident with anything they are working on now or in the future. Katie is very experienced and patient, which is wonderful with all kids but especially kids that learn differently or need a lot of encouragement. 🙂 There are built-in rewards for each step!

Gideon has been a huge help with keeping my oldest on track. Her school is a very “self-paced” environment, and I’m thankful for the reassurance from Gideon that she is hitting age appropriate goals. Gideon Math & Reading has been REMARKABLE for my 5-year-old grandson! He has learned and practiced all his numbers, letters and sounds, plus getting great skills for test-taking. He was behind in his letters last summer, but with the small group sessions he has grown tremendously. He is a young kindergartner (May birthday) and Gideon reinforces and helps him to practice all he learns at school, too.

My wife and I are thankful we tried out Gideon and "Ms. Katie". To start with Mrs.Katie is the best! She has been in my kids life since they were babies , and since my oldest is 6 now she has worked her magic on helping her gain confidence in her ability to learn, ask questions, and feel equal to her peers. Mrs.Katie has years of teaching experience, and it shows with her approach in engaging her students! It also doesn’t hurt she loves Harry Potter:). Highly recommend Gideon!

Meet Katie, owner and director of Gideon Math and Reading Center in West Richardson, TX! A proud graduate from UNT with a masters in library science along with a degree in journalism, Katie is dedicated to providing the best math and reading programs in West Richardson. Katie has experience as librarian and teacher in her education career and knows the importance of building solid math and reading foundations. She has taken her passion for education and poured it into her learning center in West Richardson. She and her husband, Andrew, have three children with the oldest enrolled in Gideon programs.

The Gideon Math program is tailored to build confidence by improving your child’s math skills step by step. With our systematic phonics in the Gideon Reading program, your child will learn to read and build literacy skills. Our reading tutoring in West Richardson also improves comprehension and grammar.
